Agri Minister for dev of Frashar nallah

Srinagar: The Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir has asked the officers of Irrigation, Flood Control, Soil Conservation, Agriculture, Rural Development, Roads and Building departments to conduct joint survey of Nallah Frashar which flows in between Nambalinar Baba Reshi, Tangmarg and submit a Detailed Project Report so that adequate funds were earmarked for its development.
 These directions were issued by the Minister during the meeting held here today.
 He said due to recent heavy rains and floods, this nallah had damaged Baba Reshi road and some other places due to soil erosion. He directed the officers to personally visit the area and assess the damage caused and submit a detailed report.
 He said Tangmarg area had great potential for irrigation adding that if it would be utilized in a proper way, thousands kanals of land can be irrigated. He said the need of the hour was to make concerted efforts to preserve these areas through water harvesting and check dams.
