Thursday sit-in a referendum: Aasiya
ASKS POLICE TO JOIN MOVEMENT
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 15: Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat Aasiya Andrabi on Thursday said the mass sit-in by people across the Valley was a referendum for right to self-determination.
“Thursday mass sit-in should serve as an eye-opener for the State government and New Delhi,” she said in a statement.
Addressing a massive gathering of women who had staged sit-in at Habba Kadal Thursday, Aasiya said, “The Omar Abdullah led government is living in a fool’s world if it believes that it can suppress the ongoing movement by imposing restrictions and curfews.”
“We will continue the ongoing movement till we achieve freedom and till the last Indian trooper leaves Kashmir. If Kashmir police prefers to stay in Kashmir, they must repent and snap their ties with Indian troopers as otherwise they will be forced to leave Kashmir along with them,” she said.
Aasiya made fervent to people to make the protests program of Hurriyat (G) successful. “People of Srinagar should put on white clothes and march towards Batamaloo to express solidarity with families of the killed teenagers and youth. People of other districts should march to respective headquarters after Friday prayers and stage protests. They should offer funeral prayers in absentia for the victims of troopers and police.
