Krishna’s claim on Kashmir hogwash: Rehmani
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League chairman, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has termed as ‘hogwash’ the Indian foreign minister S M Krishna’s claim that Kashmir was India’s internal matter.
Rehmani, in statement today, said, “Kashmir is an international issue under the terms of reference of the UN Security Council resolution; it is not internal law and order problem as stressed by the Indian foreign minister in his joint press briefing with his Pakistani counterpart on Thursday in Islamabad.”
Contradicting the press statement of the Pakistani foreign minister that the other part of Jammu and Kashmir under Indian control had an elected government and the chief minister of that part was equally concerned over the events in Kashmir, Rehmani said, “It is a government by fraud elections.” He said it was now clear that the people of Kashmir had launched a peaceful political struggle against India’s control of the state and India or any pro-Indian politician’s support had been reduced to zero.
“It would be good if India and the world powers recognized ground realities in Kashmir and abandoned their present views regarding the ongoing movement in Kashmir,” the statement said.
