Thin gathering at Hazratbal shrine

Srinagar, July 16: Friday Following Shab-e-Me’raj was celebrated with religious fervour and enthusiasm all across the state as devotees offered afternoon prayers at shrines and mosques.
However, due to strict curfew enforced in the city, a very thin gathering of only a few hundred people could assemble at Asar-i-Sharief Hazratbal here, where normally 4 to 5 lakh people pray on this day every year in tune with the age-old practice.
The thin gathering offered Zuhar prayers and soon afterwards were blessed with the glimpse of the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
