On Facebook, Sajad bats for Geelani
Asks Mirwaiz, Malik to support Hurriyat (G) at this Juncture

Srinagar, July 17: The Peoples Conference Chairman, Sajad Gani Lone who fought and lost parliamentary elections has asked Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front to support Syed Ali Geelani led Hurriyat Conference “at this juncture.”
Writing on his Facebook wall, Lone says, “All parties, in particular Hurriyat (M) and JKLF should support the Hurriyat (G). Far too long there have been accusations of betrayal. At this juncture the people are heeding to their timetables. Give them a free hand. If they deliver they lead. If they don’t, despite hartals and fatalities, leave it to their conscience, whether they deserve to lead-let us all facilitate the evolution of our nation.”
The Hurriyat (G) has given series of strike and protest programs for past 26 days to protest against the killings by police and paramilitary CRPF, which it has termed as part of its “Quit Kashmir Movement.” On Friday the Hurriyat issued another programme of protests for next nine days.
Sajad’s comment has evoked huge response with some 300 Kashmiris netizens posting their views in response.
The Social networking site Facebook has emerged as popular forum for discussion on politics and other issues in Kashmir for past two to three years. People from different walks of life including have been sharing their views and news on different political and social issues confronting Kashmir.
