BGSBU gets lions share in IT lecturers' list

Rajouri, July 1: In what could be a huge achievement for the BGSB University’s PG Department of IT, 14 of its 15 students from the first batch were selected as lecturers by the J&K Public Service Commission in the recently declared list.
The Department of Computer Sciences and Information Technology were launched during the very first year of the establishment of BGSBU in 2005 in order to cater to the emerging need of trained manpower for IT sector of the state.
These Departments offer programmes in MCA and IT to 30 and 15 students respectively and have state of art computer labs, provides best possible library facility and have very committed and experienced faculty.
The IT department plans to evolve as centre of excellence at par with world class technical department and adopts itself to the rapid advancements in various specialized fields.
As computer sciences and IT continue to be driving force of the world economy, BGSB University is excited to be part of this information revolution said the Vice-Chancellor Masud Choudhary.
“We take pride in the fact that 14 of the total 15 students of the first batch of the IT Department have been selected as lecturers in the School Education Department and 15th has migrated to USA to work in an IT company” said the Dean of School of Mathematical Sciences and Engineering, Prof M Asgar.
Success of our pass outs is an achievement and can be attributed to our well designed curriculum which is in sync with the market demand, he said. “While we are satisfied the way our first batch of MSc IT pass outs have performed through 100 per cent placement, we hope to see our students playing key roles in ushering a revolution in IT based governance across various important sectors of the state,” said Prof Asgar.
