Changing stand

This refers to news "Omar talks tough"(GK June 30). State government put the entire blame on protesters and did not say anything about the killings of innocents by the CRPF men. The press conference was a U-turn by the state government. A day before the Law Minister, Ali Muhammad Sagar went on record saying CRPF is getting out of control and killing innocents. It seems that the state government succumbed to the pressure of Delhi in only two days and changed their earlier stand. The government talks of representing people and at the same time is supporting those who are killing people. At the moment the State government should put pressure on Delhi to demilitarize civilian areas in Kashmir, if they want peace to return to Kashmir.
