Chidambaram’s remarks would aggravate people’s anger: Er Rasheed

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, July 1: MLA Langate Er S A Rasheed has termed the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram’s remarks that there was militant hand in on going public outrage in the Valley as ‘aggressive and irrational attitude’.
“This will not only add fuel to the fire but further aggravate peoples’ anger. At a time when whole Kashmir is mourning the death of about a dozen of children and youth, such aggressive statements from New Delhi add insult to injury,” Rasheed said in a statement.
“Let Government of India be clear. Does it mean that those kids who got killed in military and police action, belong to Lashker-e-Toiba?” he asked.
MLA Langate said that the high level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to discuss Kashmir situation was expected to show some sympathy with the families of those civilians who were killed. “But ironically the outcome of the meeting suggested that Delhi is yet to come out of its stagnated mindset and continues to treat Kashmir as a law and order problem,” Rasheed said. “The government of India talks about the political process in Jammu & Kashmir only when innocents’ blood spills on Kashmir streets and once some tourists are seen on the banks of Dal Lake, from Army General to Prime Minister everybody claims there is absolute normalcy in Kashmir.”
