Ministers oversee Yatra arrangements

Srinagar/Jammu, July 1: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib, CM’s Advisor, Mubarak Gul and MLC, Altaf Ahmad Kaloo today visited Pahalgam and reviewed the arrangements made for the Amarnath Yatris.
 The ministers interacted with the yatries and said people of the Valley had always extended cooperation to the pilgrims even during natural calamities in the past years.
 Tara and other Ministers paid obeisance at the Gouri Shanker Mandir at Pahalgam.
 Meanwhile, Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather and Minister for Industries S S Slathia took stock of arrangements for Yatris at Jammu base camp Baghwati Nagar Yatri Niwas.
 The Ministers interacted with Yatris who expressed satisfaction with the arrangements.
 The Minister for Roads and Bridges, G M Saroori visited destinations enroute Jammu to Ramban and inspected works under R&B at various locations in district Udhampur.
 He took stock of facilities being provided to the Yatris.
 Responding to the demand for construction of inspection hut at Chenani, Saroori announced Rs 10 lakh and asked the officers to start work on the project and ensure its completion within stipulated time. He announced Rs 2.33 crore for upgradation of bridge at Batana.
