Shooting an unarmed protestor is a simple murder
I am deeply saddened to learn about the death of more than 8 youth in Kashmir in the past few weeks. I extend my heartfelt condolences to all the families who lost their loved ones due to the government staged terrorism. I don't agree with the Chief Minister's statement of calling it a 'battle of ideas and ideologies'. People have a right to protest against the unlawful killings and to speak up their mind against the ongoing government negligence's and killings. One cannot simply pass the burden on Kashmiris by saying that they should stay indoors and not instigate the soldiers. The fact is that many people were killed during the crackdowns. It is important to note that people have the right to freedom of expression, which only uncivilized and ill-trained army will preserve as instigation. Shooting unarmed people from blank zero range is a murder and a clear violation of human rights. We must not cover up the crimes committed by soldiers. Fairness demands to bring the accused soldiers to justice and to carry out an investigation of this matter.
