Travel, tour operators welcome Amarnath yatris

Srinagar, July 1: About 15 unions representing various segments of tourist trade and hospitality industry in Kashmir today jointly welcomed the pilgrims to Amarnath yatra. In a joint statement issued here today, the unions said “we are welcoming pilgrims to Amarnath yatra with open arms.” “Our cultural ethos and egalitarian traditions have inculcated in our soul what world generally regards as Kashmiri hospitality,” the statement said. “We want to assure our guests that in line with our traditions we will continue to provide you with as best services as possible,” it said.
The statement clarified that there is no truth in any of “rumors being spread outside in and outside Kashmir regarding the yatra.”
The unions include Travel Agents Society of Kashmir (TASK), Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK), J&K Chapter of Travel Agents Association of India, J&K Tourism Alliance, J&K Chapter of Indian Association of Tour Operators, Association of Domestic Tour Operators, Kashmir Hotel & Restaurants Association, Kashmir Hotel & Restaurant Owners Federation, Houseboat Owners Association, Tourist Taxi Operators Association, Pahalgam Hotel & Restaurants Association, Sonamarg Hotel & Restaurants Association, Gulmarg Hotel & Restaurants Association, Shikara Owners Association and Shikara Owners Federation.
