Curfewed life
Description of ZGM's curfewed life reminded me of my own curfewed life in 60's. Just a small correction. It was not PAC wielding long bamboo sticks fitted with iron knobs but were PP(Punjab Police) who would mostly target knees and elbows during lathi charge which used to be more painful. I myself have been a victim of same when I was reading in class 2nd or 3rd and my ankle still has a scar of this brutal beating.
Would you please refresh the memory of the community kitchens and Tamba during 60's. If I remember well the Tamba (hartal ) was usually to be followed after 3Pm and nobody used to come out of their houses. Only stray dogs and PP were seen on roads The hartal used to be total but people were allowed to earn their livelihood and students used to attend schools upto 2.00 pm.I think we can learn a lesson from it..
