DIG SOUTH KASHMIR REPLACED
Srinagar, July 20: The Government has transferred several officers in the police department.
According to an order issued by the Home Department last night, A S Bali, DIG SKR, Islamabad has been transferred and posted as Director Police Telecommunication, J&K against available post. S A Watali, DIG Security J&K has been transferred and posted as DIG SKR Islamabad.
Showkat Ahmad Malik, SSP Islamabad has been transferred and posted as SSP Railways (Kashmir). Javaid Riyaz, SSP Traffic (City) Srinagar has been transferred and posted as SSP CID (SB) Kashmir.
M A Untoo, SSP Railways (Kashmir) has been transferred and posted as SSP Varmul. B A Khan, SP Awantipora has been transferred and posted as SP Islamabad.
M S Panu, SP, AIG (Welfare) PHQ has been transferred and posted as SP Awantipora and Nisha Nathyal, Commandant, IRP 15th Bn has been transferred and posted as AIG Welfare (PHQ).
Meanwhile, the Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khuda has also ordered transfers and postings of Deputy Superintendents of Police.
Shabir Ahmad, Dy. SP Headquarters Shopian has been transferred and posted as Dy. SP Hqr’s Varmul.
Fasil Qayoom, Dy. SP Hqr’s Varmul has been transferred and posted as Dy. SP Hqr’s Srinagar.
Aziz Akbar Khan, Dy.SP Hqr’s Srinagar has been transferred and posted as Dy SP Hqr’s Shopian.
According to PTI, the transfers in Islamabad come in the backdrop of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah assuring prominent citizens to carry out a detailed enquiry of the allegation of alleged high-handedness by policemen in the district.
Earlier, an inspector, two sub-inspectors and five constables were attached with the J&K Police headquarters following a preliminary report that they used "excessive force", official sources said here.
Islamabad Additional District Magistrate G M Dar is conducting a formal inquiry into the incident.
