Take steps

Kashmir has lost so many precious lives in the past few weeks. But the handling of the crises by Jammu and Kashmir government, led by Omar Abdullah, was quite disheartening. At the grassroots level, a party like National Conference looked helpless and could not utter a word to mitigate the sufferings of the people. Congress passed a resolution for sanctioning financial support to the families of these grief-stricken families. But the government could not gather courage to announce ex-gratia relief to the affected families. NC has still chances of  revival of its roots throughout J&K, but it has to take effective steps to make that happen. Otherwise the party will lose it base, forever.
