Make the best use of resources lest we lose them
This refers to various announcements made by Chief Minister relating to developmental activities. He announced that the construction of flyover from Exhibition to Natipora will be started soon. If the Chief Minister is really serious about the developmental activities in Kashmir then he can issue the orders to the authorities to start the work during night hours on pattern of decisions taken by the then Chief Minister Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad. During his time, he got projects done and fulfilled the commitment to the people to some extent. His statement that developmental activities in Kashmir are suffering due to the protests is not completely justified. By the time normalcy returns, the funds earmarked for various developmental activities will be diverted back or lapsed. Better will be to constitute a monitoring committee with planning personnel who can monitor the progress of the work. But when there are no developmental works on the ground, what will they monitor. Are we waiting for the time to pass and then fake our documents to make sure that Centre is made to believe that funds are used. After 3 or 6 months how Government of J&K can demand New Delhi to release the second installment of funds for the developmental activities. Just think. However, It would be highly appreciated also if the J&K State Board of Advisory is constituted wherein the specialists e.g. Scientists, Economists, Educationists, Doctors, Agriculturists, environmentalists etc etc would be nominated as Members under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister who can find out the ways and means so that funds are properly used and development is seen on the ground. Otherwise we will be losing a precious resource.
