Iqbalabad gets erratic power supply
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 23: Due to frequent power breakdown in Lane 4, Iqbalabad Bemina, the residents are facing severe inconvenience saying that Power Development Department has failed to supply uninterrupted electricity.
The area has been facing this problem for past around a week despite being metered.
A delegation of the colony residents said for the past two-three days there was “absolute breakdown of the system”.
“After every 10 minutes, power cuts occur causing damage to the electrical appliances as well as irking the inhabitants,” the delegation told Greater Kashmir adding that there was a chaos.
“I had to email urgent assignments outside but the power cuts played hell today. After 10 minutes, electricity was snapped in the colony,” said a resident Isfaq Ahmad.
The locals said it has become routine for the PDD to snap electricity in the area.
“Every time when winds blow, there is a break-up in the system for hours. We have been facing this for past year but the problem persists despite filing repeated complaints,” they complained.
The delegation appealed to the authorities concerned to address the power problems of the colony at an earliest.
Concerned Assistant Executive Engineer PDD denied that there was any such problem in the area. “There was no such problem, its alright,” the official said.
