Vegetables being sold at 'inflated prices'

Srinagar, July 23: The City consumers have complained that the street vendors were selling vegetables at inflated prices.
 The complainants accused the street vendors of “taking undue advantage” of the turmoil.
 The vegetables are being sold at almost double the actual price.
 “Tomatoes are being sold at Rs 60 per KG while as the actual rate is Rs 30 only,” said a consumer Rouf Ahmed.
 His colleague said the same was true with other vegetables like brinjals.
 “The brinjals are being sold at Rs five per piece,” the consumers alleged.
 When contacted an official with CAPD said “given the turmoil., the department was finding it difficult to grab the miscreants as they make the sales in lanes and bylanes of City areas.”
