ERA reacts on Hyderpora drain
Srinagar, July 24: Reacting to We the Srinagarites column of the City Page published on July 20, the Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) pleaded the delay in the construction of the drain at Hyderpora.
“The tender for construction of lateral drains for Rawalpora-Tengpora was also floated by ERA but had to be kept on hold due to paucity of funds and same is proposed to be taken up under ADB Loan II,” the ERA spokesman Muhammad Azhar said in a handout.
“ The benefits of these drainage schemes, although still to be commissioned have already been felt and appreciated by the inhabitants of Shah Anwar Colony,Gulbahar Colony, Sheikh ul Alam Colony and Al Noor Colony,during the incessant rains in the month of May 2010, when whole of the City got submerged,” he added.
