Islamabad utilizes `90 cr on dev works

Islamabad , 24 July: Against the allocation of `9530.89 lakh under last year’s Annual district plan for Islamabad district, an expenditure of `8998.78 lakhs has been booked for implementation of various development and welfare schemes by ending March last, an official statement said.
This, according to the statement, was revealed at a review meeting of district annual plan held here today under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Islamabad, S. Jai Pal Singh.
The meeting was told that during last year 95 primary schools have been opened, free text books provided to 123101 students and 70555 students were covered under Mid Day Meal under SSA. As many as 65 primary schools and additional class rooms for 327 Primary and Middle have been constructed. During the period 317 small scale industrial NREP units were registered generating employment opportunities for177 7 youth. Under Scheme 53051 job Cards were issued generating 5.13 lakh man days. Out of 1694 works taken in hand, 1034 works were completed under the scheme.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, District and Sectorial officers of the district.
