Students’ attendance nil in city

Srinagar, July 24: The Minster for Education, Peerzada Muhamamd Sayeed and other top officials of the Education Department Saturday conducted inspection of some government schools in Srinagar, Pulwama and Islamabad.
 The schools included Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothibagh, Government Higher Secondary Schools Lethpora, Higher Secondary School Bijbehara and Government Middle School, Sethar Islamabad.
 While an official handout said all employees in these schools were present and almost 50 percent of the students attended the schools, the Director, School Education, Kashmir, Shafguta Parveen said hardly few students were seen at GHSS, Kothibagh.
 “There was hardly few students at GHSS Kothibagh but in Pulwama and Islamabad schools, the attendance of students was 50 to 60 percent,” she said.
