ANC demands dismissal of coalition govt

Jammu, July 25: The Awami National Conference (ANC) on Sunday demanded the dismissal of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah led coalition government alleging that it had failed on social, political and economic fronts.
“Omar government has lost credibility as it has lost its grip over the state administration and failed miserably on social, political, economic and administrative fronts in Kashmir valley,” Muzaffar Shah, senior vice president, ANC told reporters here.
Shah, while talking about the present situation in Kashmir said that for the last 44 days, Curfew has been imposed in the valley and during that period, 17 precious lives have been lost.
He condemned the use of “brute force” on innocent civilians and questioned how troopers can resort to bullets while retaliating to stones.
He said that ANC under the presidentship of Begum Khalida Shah would be holding two day round table conference (RTC) at New Delhi from August 2 to discuss situation in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, for peaceful resolution of Kashmir problem and good governance without bloodshed.
He maintained that in RTC, role of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the ongoing peace talks between India-Pakistan will also be discussed.
