Farooq Abdullah’s ‘Kashmir Ko Goli Maro’ draws flak

Srinagar, July 26: The Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Monday invited sharp criticism over his yesterday’s comments at New Delhi.
At a press conference in Hotel Ashoka, Dr Abdullah had on Sunday said, “Kashmir Ko Goli Maro,” in response to a question on the prevailing situation in Kashmir.
The comment was telecast on local news channels with people expressing their deep anguish over it.
While the Bhartiya Janata Party criticized Abdullah’s comments, sources said senior National Conference leaders have expressed their dismay too, especially in the wake of recurring civilian killings in Kashmir.
 “Dr Sahib should not have made such comments. It is really unfortunate that he has said so,” said a NC leader, who is also a minister in the state Cabinet.
