Cross-LoC trade resumes after 2 weeks
Srinagar, July 27: The cross-LoC trade through Salamabad-Chakoti route was resumed Tuesday. The trade had remained suspended for two weeks.
Trade Facilitation Officer Salamabad, Uri, Muhammad Ashraf Wani said the trade was conducted smoothly between the two sides.
Pertinently, no trade was conducted across the LoC via Salamabad-Chakoti route last week in the wake of simmering situation in the Valley. Prior to that the PaK traders had suspended the trade for one week on account of the Martyrs’ Day.
Meanwhile, some traders here said that they were suffering losses worth lakhs of rupees due to the prevailing situation in Kashmir, for goods imported to the Valley from PaK could not be supplied to and sold in the local market. “Those goods remained dumped in stores,” they said.
