Hurting statements
This is in reference to news in an Urdul local daily (24-07-10) wherein the Chief Minister has termed the ongoing struggle as a hollow movement saying: “ If Kashmiris don’t get employment, they raise the slogan of freedom, if they don’t get electricity they raise the slogan of freedom, and the slogan of freedom is not a new thing”. He also narrated his childhood story that once when electricity was taken off, people marched to the office of UN and raised pro freedom slogans there because they wanted to watch a TV serial. All these statements are really hurting and aimed at humiliating Kashmiris. The Chief Minister is supposed to stand by the people, understand their feelings, their sentiments. When on earth did people march toward UN office to watch a TV serial?
