Implement NHRM with zeal: Omar
Srinagar: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today underscored the efficacy of National Rural Health Mission to reach out to the maximum population in the rural and far off areas for healthcare facilities.
He said NRHM’s multi dimensional strategy of creating necessary awareness about healthcare, immunization, child and mother care, extension of necessary medical treatment and strengthening of health institutions along with imparting trainings to medicos and para-medical staff has far reaching impact on the health upgradation and improvement programme of the Government.
He asked the Health Department to implement the schemes of NRHM with missionary spirit and zeal. “Every effort should be made to ensure benefits under this flagship programme to the poor in rural areas. The doctors and other staff associated with this programme need to be sensitized at all levels so that the aims and objectives of the programme are achieved in full”, he said.
He was reviewing the NRHM at a meeting. It was stated that out of the total availability of Rs. 347.65 crore over Rs. 279.39 crores have been spent in the State under NRHM by the end of June.
