Kashmiri detainees denied medical aid: Hurriyat (M)
Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam, ors visit police stations
Srinagar, July 27: The Hurriyat Conference (M) on Tuesday alleged that authorities were denying medical aid to Kashmiri detainees, a spokesman of the conglomerate said in a statement. He described denying medical aid to detainees as a violation of Geneva Convention and urged the international human rights organizations to take a serious note of it. Referring to the detention of its senior member Muhammad Maqbool Sofi, he said, “Sofi was recently arrested and lodged in a local police station. Later he was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to Rajouri,” he added. The spokesman has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of Zaffar Akbar Bhat and Abdul Shakoor in Kote Balwal Jail.
Meanwhile, a team of lawyers led by advocate Shahid-ul-Islam on Tuesday visited different police stations and reviewed the cases of arrested innocent youth including teenagers so that legal help could be provided to them for their release.
