What then?
This refers to the news titled “NHRC wants full jurisdiction over J&K” (GK July 26). In Jammu and Kashmir, the human rights bodies like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch are not respected by the governments. So what fate would the NHRC meet can be anybody’s guess. Even if NHRC is given full jurisdiction over J&K, things won’t change.
Instead of giving a cosmetic treatment to the happenings in Kashmir, New Delhi must understand the sensitivity of the Kashmir crisis and solve the Kashmir issue, once and for all. We have had enough of talking so far: bilateral, trilateral and what not. Now it is time to solve the issue seriously.
