Aspirants appeal PSC to defer exams

Srinagar, July 28: The aspirants for lecturer posts in Biotechnology (10+2) on Wednesday appealed to the Public Service Commission to defer their examination for the posts scheduled on Sunday in view of the prevailing unrest in the Valley.
 The candidates from Shahr-e-Khas and far off areas told Greater Kashmir that it would not be possible for the candidates to make it to the examination center-Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothibagh-due to the prevailing. As per the protest programme by the Hurriyat (G), there will be a complete shutdown on Sunday. “In absence of the traffic, the candidates from different districts of the Valley can’t make it to the examination center. We appeal to the authorities to defer the examination till situation normalizes,” they said.
 One of the aspirants said on contacting the PSC authorities they were told to leave for the center early in the morning at 6. “Even at that time the armed forces don’t allow to venture out of the homes. We appeal to the authorities to consider our plea,” they said.
 The PSC has set examination centers for the posts-one each in Kashmir and Jammu.
