Cabinet to meet every Tuesday

Srinagar, July 28: The state cabinet would be meeting every Tuesday to take stock of overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The decision to this effect was taken in the cabinet which met here on Tuesday. The move aims to make cabinet system functional in real sense.
A GAD order said the cabinet shall henceforth meet regularly on every Tuesday at 10 am. In case Tuesday happens to be a public holiday, the cabinet meeting would be held on the following day.
“The cabinet will be meeting irrespective of any formal agenda. All the issues pertaining to different government departments and there functioning will be discussed during the meeting,” sources said.
“It is a good beginning,” said minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir.
A senior minister said it was customary with earlier Chief Ministers to avoid the regular cabinet meetings but the decision would in a way empower the cabinet.
