Income Tax deptt enhances facilities for filing returns

Srinagar, July 28: Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, Jammu, Ravi Sarangal today said for the convenience of assessees to file their tax returns the counters at Srinagar as well as Jammu offices shall remain open even on Saturday from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.
He said to cater to the last minute rush multiple counters were being provided to cater at both the offices. He said the last date of filing of Income Tax Returns in respect of salary and non-audit cases falls on 31-07-2010.
At a meeting with the officers of Income Tax at his Srinagar office, Sarangal said for better facilitation of the tax payers of Kashmir Valley, the Income tax returns of Valley based assessees shall be accepted at Jammu office also in addition to its Rajbagh office here.
He assured that full cooperation shall be extended to the voluntary filers of returns.
He said for any assistance, taxpayers can contact phone numbers 0194-2312778, 0194-2310956, 0194-2313409 during working hours.
