Jama’at asks Hurriyats to demonstrate unity
Srinagar, July 28: Jama’at-e-Islami has appealed to both the Hurriyat factions to demonstrate unity in the larger interest of ongoing freedom struggle.
Meanwhile, Jama’at said people of Kashmir were peacefully struggling for their right of self determination and any attempt to crush it was highly condemnable. “It is undemocratic and inhuman to crush the peoples’ peaceful struggle for their right of self-determination by terming it separatism or treason,” said Jama’at spokesman, advocate Zahid Ali.
Terming the boycott of courts by the High Court Bar Association as just and timely, he said it was an effective democratic method of protest against the state ‘oppression and injustice’. “India has so far applied all its pressure tactics and temptation to give permanency to its rule in the state,” he said.
“The youth being in the frontline of ongoing mass-movement, their arrest at a large scale is going on so as to create an atmosphere of fear and terror. The false cases are registered against the government employees and doctors for registering their protest against the state oppression which is most condemnable,” Zahid said.
Jama’at- e -Islami asked the government of India to understand the mood of people and honour their sentiment and sacrifices by giving them their right of self determination.
