Rs 50 lakh approved for renovation of Gulmarg Palace

Srinagar, July 28: The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, on Wednesday highlighted the need for conservation and restoration of Gulmarg Palace to its pristine glory.
 “Urgent steps are required to preserve this heritage building and utilize it for the promotion of convention tourism” the Chief Minister said while chairing a meeting of the senior officers here this afternoon.
 The meeting, according to the official spokesman, had been called to discuss matters pertaining to the preservation of Gulmarg Palace constructed in the early 20th century. The Chief Minister approved Rs 50 lakh for conservation and maintenance of the Palace.
