With spiritual glitter on his white bearded face, with his ocean deep eyes and a unique aura of grace, he held my right hand with his both hands for eleven minutes. The spiritual ecstasy of that particular moment is beyond description, when I called on Ahad Sahib Bab at Sopore on 16th June.

Ahad Bab wearing grey woolen Pheran upto pear shaped broad ankles, with towering and commanding height, wide shouldered body, strong arms and soft hands sitting with eternal calm on his face. Even I could not imagine that it will be my last interaction with such spiritual beacon, who not only symbolized our great civilization with recorded historical and spiritual background of thousands of years but also had achieved the status of one of the acknowledged living spiritual icons of the valley.

Visiting Sopore, June this year and interacting with thousands of people and delegates on various issues is no doubt an act of worship in itself. But this particular visit on particular day fully satisfied my strong urge to meet unique personality who rules hearts of people of valley.

After walking on foot alongwith hundreds of people through crowded bazaars, lanes and bye-lanes I reached residential area of this legendary saint. I witnessed impatient crowd constantly thronging  the doors of Ahad Bab. The urge to meet Ahad Bab was too difficult to control. I placed myself somewhere last in the queue of a thousand disciples  waiting inside and outside of his two storied house and his meditational chamber. Surprisingly within a fraction I received a call from inside devotional and meditational chamber of the saint ahead of thousands waiting since wee hours. All they needed was just a glimpse of the saint. The local persons accompanying me had informed that Ahad Bab normally avoids to meet people who hold a worldly position. Even there are instances when he had made some well known personalities to escape from his place or closed the doors. Even after my interaction it proved correct as various known persons sent message to meet him but all were denied the audience. Therefore my last interaction with Ahad Bab turned out to be a historical moment for my personal life.

I recall echoes of my heart throbs as a pessimism struck my mind that I might be countenanced with angry wrinkles on his forehead being conscious of all my human infirmities and weaknesses. We ordinary mortals never count our sins but there are sharply focused eyes of Ahad Bab passing through spiritual windows, computerize all our deeds since our birth. I have not yet gone for any such introspection to fathom the depth of black sea of sins in which people like me are drowned, how many hearts I have broken, how many times caused sprinkling of tears from miserable wet eyes, how many times ignored Azans and remained engrossed in worldly affairs, how many times missed to pay obeisance at Dargahs and Holy Shrines of Holy Awliya Kirams, how many times treated human beings like speechless animals, with flood of apprehensions and fear of rebuff in mind. I initiated process of momentary introspection of my self. But till I could recall all my sins I reached near the door of his devotional chamber. I ventured to sneak inside the meditation chamber of great saint.

Ah! it was a new world glorified with light of divinity. Ahad Bab with silence on his lips seems to have comprehended all my worries and fears and proved contrary to my apprehension more merciful towards me. He allowed me to come closer to him and in the process the spiritual gestures which he made were communicating in unambiguous manner some crystal clear messages to me. The interpretation of which have unimaginable consequences. It will take at least eleven hundred days or two lakh sixty four thousand hours to really see its results so that I am able to speak conveniently and openly all such messages which were transmitted within eleven minutes.  The gesture of throwing cloths, the secrets of complex  changes, movement of eyes concealed under semi closed lids were transmitting billions of messages which can be configurated only by clean souls and not a smeared soul like me. All those persons who were lucky to have been able to interact with Ahad Bab or received his blessings through lovable gestures can ponder over to translate such realistic messages out of abstract.  When Ahad Bab with both of his hands held my right hand for eleven minutes. The radiation of his soft bones and strong nerves constrained me to think for a spur of moment that all power of earth has got accumulated with me. I felt a sense of strength in every fibre. There was one devotee pressing his spongy legs and each drop of his tear falling on his yellow skin of legs was spontaneously evaporating or absorbed in his skin. Today when Ahad Bab is no more who can read the message in the tears of millions.
