Srinagar, July 2: The senior leader of PDP, Moulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari has strongly refuted and condemned the statement of Hurriyat (M) Executive Member, Maulana Abass Ansari in which he had accused the PDP of instigating the youth to pelt stones.
In a statement to local news agency KNS, Iftikhar who is also PDP’s senior vice-president, without naming anybody, said, “Such statements are given by the persons backed by the agencies. At a time when genocide of innocent is going on, these persons are asking the affected families to remain silent. The Government also wants to divert the attention from the recent killings by leveling baseless allegations against the PDP,” he said.
In an interview to a New Delhi-based television channel, former Hurriyat (M) chairman, Maulana Abbas Ansari, had said that PDP that was behind a massive political conspiracy to topple the Omar Abdullah government.
“It was when Mufti Mohammed Sayeed was the Union Home Minister that violence in J&K increased. These forces have always halted the Kashmir peace process. The PDP and others are funding this violence. The whole conspiracy is to topple the Omar Abdullah government,” he had told the TV channel.
Meanwhile, in a statement on Friday, the Hurriyat (M) leader, who is also the chief patron of Itihadul Muslimeen, alleged the mainstream parties, in pursuit of power, were trying to highjack the Hurriyat Conference agenda and create confusion among the people.
“All the pro-India regional political parties and leaders are busy conspiring to highjack the Hurriyat agenda to create confusion and steer people away from the real objective of struggle,” Abbas Ansari, currently under house arrest, said.
Abbas alleged that Kashmiri youth were being slaughtered under a deep rooted conspiracy to which state ruling parties and opposition parties besides police and India media were the parties. He alleged all the killings and other human rights were being carried out the by state rulers at the behest of New Delhi.
“On the other hand, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party is shedding crocodile tears over these killings to befool people and reap the political benefit,” he said.
