Hurriyat (G) to announce fresh programme today

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, July 2: Hurriyat Conference (G) would announce its next phase of protest programme on “Quit Kashmir” movement Saturday, a spokesman of the conglomerate said in a statement.
He said the government had imposed curfew and other restrictions across the Valley to prevent people from assembling at Eidgah here. “It is highly condemnable,” he added.
Hurriyat had, as a part of its “Quit Kashmir” programme, called for Eidgah Chalo on Friday.
He condemned the imposition of restrictions on people to offer Friday prayers in Masjids at different places, terming it interference in the religious affairs. Despite curfew and restrictions, the Hurriyat leaders addressed public meetings and led protest processions at various places including Machoo Budgam, Nagam Chadoora, Kralgund Handwara, Hajan, Naid Khai, Kakapora and Lawaypora, he added.

STAGE PROTESTS TODAY: AASIYA
The chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi has urged the people to stage protests on Saturday against the recent killings in the Valley. “We will announce a fresh programme after consultation with representatives of other pro-freedom parties on Saturday evening,” Aasiya said in a statement.
She castigated the Hurriyat (M) Executive Member, Moulvi Abass Ansari for what she termed as anti-movement remarks. “By saying that the youth were being financed by a mainstream party to resort to stone pelting, Ansari has added insult to our injuries. He has disrespected the sacrifices rendered by our youth for the movement. Mirwaiz should clarify conglomerate’s stand on Ansari’s remarks within 24-hours,” she added.

JKLF FLAYS GOVT
The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front on Friday flayed the state government for imposing curfew in city saying such “autocratic” approach won’t subjugate the aspirations of Kashmiris.
In a statement issued here, the JKLF spokesman condemned continuous detention of Front’s Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik.
“India and its forces have unleashed reign of terror in Kashmir. They have formally announced war against Kashmiris. Everyone here is insecure,” he added.
He accused Chief Minister of trying to “subjugate the movement by advocating the Indian stand on Kashmir.”
