KUTA takes on HM
‘State playing center’s mouthpiece’
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 2: The Kashmir University Teachers Association (KUTA), President, Dr Muhammad Yousuf Ganai has sharply reacted to Home Minister, P Chidambaram’s statement on Kashmir situation.
“New Delhi has been changing its statements faster than a Chameleon would change colors. At first they said Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani was responsible for the protests and then the very next day they shifted the blame onto Pakistan and finally Lashkar card was played,” Dr Ganai said.
He said instead of felling sorry over the killing of innocent Kashmiris, the government was “feeling privileged in giving absolute powers to the forces.”
Basically, Dr Ganie said, from the Omar Abdullah led state government to New Delhi, everyone was “speaking the same script”.
“Omar Abdullah’s press briefing was simply the endorsement to what Home Secretary had said. And finally the Home Minister indirectly hailed his Home department by appreciating the CM’s statement in-between,” Dr Ganai explained.
The KUTA has expressed sympathies with the bereaved families whose kith and kin were killed in firing allegedly by the security forces in the past around a fortnight.
He said the “Kashmir intelligentsia isn’t mute but reading between the lines each and every statement made by the government.”
