HAZRATBAL POLICE ABORTS MURDER BID

Victim rescued, kidnappers arrested

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, July 29: The Hazratbal police on Thursday said it rescued a person from the clutches of kidnappers who were allegedly conspiring to murder him.
The victim, Muhammad Hanief Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi of Jogi Lankar, Rainawari, according to the police, was kidnapped by Hilal Ahmad Anchoo son of Abdul Majeed of Rainawari and Sajad Ahmad Misger son of Nazir Ahmad of Qalwal Mohalla.
Addressing the media persons, Superintendent Police Hazratbal, Maqsood-ul-Zaman said: “Police Station Soura received information from I/C guard Saidapora Bridge that the duo have confined Hanief in a Maruti Car (JK01E/1288) and are beating him ruthlessly with the intention to murder him. Police rushed to the spot and rescued the victim. A bundle of Nylon rope, a knife, rubber fan belt and jack rod was recovered from the vehicle.”
Police nabbed the accused on-the-spot. Giving the case background, Zaman said: “A few months back Hanief had eloped with a girl.”
“The girl’s family had lodged a case in P/S Nowhatta but the girl surrendered before CJM Srinagar and was subsequently handed over to her husband. The accused intercepted Hanief and his wife at Jawahar Nagar and forcibly took the couple in two separate vehicles.”
“They planned to eliminate him. The suspects had threatened to kill the victim and throw his body at some desolate place on the Ali Jan Road,” he added.
The SP claimed that if the things would have gone as per the plans of suspects, “There would have been law and order problem, associating the murder with custodial killing.”
