PDP sit-in a drama: NC
Srinagar, July 29: The ruling National Conference today described sit-in of the Peoples Democratic Party outside the civil Secretariat as a drama to invite media attention.
“PDP is not acting as constructive opposition but as a subversive opposition. It is Peoples Destructive Party,” the NC spokesman Sheikh Ghulam Rasool told reporters here.
He described PDP’s sit-in outside the Civil secretariat as drama. ‘Whenever situation returns to normal the party steps in to create trouble,” he added.
He accused PDP of trying to topple the government. “But they (PDP) should understand that this government will complete its full term,” he said. “PDP won’t succeed in breaking NC- Congress alliance despite throwing tantrums.”
He said that NC was concerned over killings. “Judicial Commission has been established to probe each killing. Besides government has decided to provide immediate relief and employment to the next of the kin of deceased under SRO,” he added.
Sharief Din Shariq, senior NC member without naming PDP said that some people instigate youth to pelt stones but for their own children they have different parameters. “We might have difference with each other but it doesn’t mean you will take stones as your argument,” Shariq said.
Meanwhile, a local news agency KNS reported that Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Muhammad Akbar Lone on Thursday received a letter asking him to take action against the senior PDP leader and Deputy Speaker, Sartaj Madni for boycotting district board meetings.
“Madni walking out of board meetings is unwarranted and undemocratic,” the letter states.
“Yes I have received the letter,” Lone told KNS, without divulging who wrote it and what its contents were.
