Religious tolerance should be our hallmark: Jama’at

Srinagar: Jama’at-e-Islami on Thursday said religious tolerance and brotherhood should be the hallmark of the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement.
 In a statement, its spokesman, advocate Zahid Ali reiterated his appeal to the pro-freedom people especially the youth to ensure that no damage was caused to the life, property and honour of any individual, Muslim or non-Muslim, during protests against ‘state repression’.
 Jama’at has also demanded stern action against the police officers who were allegedly involved in taking hefty amounts as ransom from the parents of arrested youth.
 Meanwhile, Jama’at has appealed to the Muslim parents to keep eye on the activities of their children and take steps to impart religious education to them so that they refrain from doing any un-Islamic acts.
