Stage protests after Friday prayers: Masrat to people

‘Dev is meaningless when survival is at stake’

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, July 29: The Hurriyat (G) acting general secretary, Masrat Alam Bhat has reiterated his appeal to the people to stage protests at district headquarters on July 30, after Friday prayers.
“During protests the people should raise slogans: Go India Go Back, to make it clear to the world that we want freedom,” said Masrat Alam, according to Hurriyat statement.
Masrat said, “Where peoples’ birth right to survive has been snatched, mundane things like roads, electricity, education and other needs are meaningless for them. India is pursuing the policy of violence, coercion and repression in Kashmir. Peace and security will elude the subcontinent until the Kashmir issue is resolved in accordance with peoples’ wishes and aspirations.”
Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat has appealed to the international community, United Nations, OIC and the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of human rights abuses allegedly committed by the police and armed forces in Kashmir and pressurize India to take steps for resolving Kashmir issue.
In a statement, its spokesman alleged that police raided the house of its senior leader, Mir Ghulam Hassan at Duroo, Sopur, in north Kashmir. “The team went into rage when they did not find Mir and out of frustration demolished a part of compound wall,” he said.
He termed as eyewash the statement of the chief minister, Omar Abdullah about the release of political detainees and recently arrested youth. “No political leader has been released yet,” he said.
