Unite now

The ongoing freedom struggle in Kashmir has its own significance not because we have achieved something extraordinary but because of the people who have got enough political vision to lead from the front. After a long break when people came out on streets and raised pro freedom slogans in 2008, we thought that the goal is not-much-away but unfortunately that proved to be a hoax. We are on a hat-trick now but regrettably we have not achieved any feat so far other than woes which we are facing since decades. It is hard to say that the three successive years of mass protests and so many sacrifices failed to budge pro-freedom leaders from their respective positions. They still don’t seem to be in a mood to end their internal controversies. There is no denying the fact that deep in the hearts of Kashmiri people pro-freedom leaders are dearer than anyone else but now the sadness that emanates from the faces of young Kashmiris is also evident and can’t be overlooked. This sadness is because of the leaders’ own fault for which they have to share the blame. Regrettably pro-freedom leaders neither introspect nor are they interested in revisiting their policies formulated in distant past. If they don’t shun this nature at this juncture then it is ridiculous to expect freedom. It is high time for pro-freedom leaders to unite and fight for the noble cause. There should be only one goal and one slogan not many to create confusion. All leaders should realize that people now are politically more vigilant than before and in a much better position to assess every move of their beloved leaders.
