Won’t allow suppression of movement: Aasiya

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, July 29: Dukhtaran-e-Millat chairperson, Syeda Aasiya Andrabi on Thursday accused the Government of trying to suppress the ongoing resistance movement and aspirations of Kashmiris by police and military might.
In a statement, Aasiya castigated the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for what she said threatening to expel the Government employees if they did not report to their duties during the ongoing ‘Quit Jammu Kashmir campaign.’
“The oppressive tactics can’t change the aspirations of employees. By restrictions and curfews the Government was trying to suppress the ongoing movement. I dare the Government to call the troopers back to barracks for a day and see the referendum of Kashmiris,” she said.
She appealed to the people to march towards the district headquarters after Friday prayers and stage demonstrations on the call of Hurriyat (G). She appealed the respective Mohalla relief committees to extend helping hand to needy. “I make a fervent appeal to well off people to generously contribute to the relief committees for sustaining the poor. Our resistance movement can stretch for a long time and it is need of hour that every Kashmiri rises to the occasion. Islam also teaches us to help the underprivileged and we have to prepare for the hereafter,” she said.
Aasiya strongly condemned the assault on a member of a minority community in Tral terming it as a handiwork of vested interest to divert attention from the ongoing situation.  “I appeal to the minority community to maintain the age-old brotherhood and communal harmony with Kashmiri Muslims and defeat the evil-designs of the vested interests who want to create wedge between them,” she added.
