20,000 visit Amarnath cave in 2 days

Srinagar, July 3: During the first two days of Amarnath Yatra, almost 20,000 pilgrims have performed the Darshan at Amarnath Cave in South Kashmir.
 According to an official communiqué, on the second day of the pilgrimage on Friday, over 10,000 Yatris performed the Darshan.
 It said on Saturday, about 2100 Yatris left Jammu for Pahalgam and Baltal Base Camps; over 6700 Yatris proceeded to Sheshnag/Panjtarni and, from Domail, over 5000 left for the Amarnath Cave.
 Meanwhile, the Governor, N N Vohra who is also the chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, discussed all the aspects of the Yatra during a review meeting.
 The CEO, R K Goyal said the BSNL had provided cellular phone connectivity at Baltal and Chandanwari and the same was also expected to be commissioned at the Cave today.
 Meanwhile, as many as 9571 pilgrims left from Nunwan-Pahalgam and Baltal-Sonamarg base camps to Amarnath Cave.
 According to sources, 4210 pilgrims comprising 3176 male, 464 female, 152 children and 237 Sadhus left for the Cave from Nunwan-Pahalgam while 5361 pilgrim left from Baltal base camp to Amarnath Cave.
