Kishtwar gets annual plan of Rs 49.02 crore

99.51 % utilization for last fiscal

Kishtwar, July 03: The total outlay of District Kishtwar for the current financial year has been approved to the tune of Rs. 49.02 crore with a capital component of  Rs. 34.94 crore  .
 This was announced by the Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik who is also the Chairman of the Kishtwar District Development Board (DDB) while chairing the DDB meeting at Kishtwar today.
 The outlay for the financial year 2009-2010 was to the tune of Rs. 45.03 crore, out of which expenditure of Rs. 44.81 crore was utilized, amounting to 99.51 percent of the total allocations made available.
 For the current year, out of the total capital component of Rs 34 crore Transport sector will get Rs 12.29 crore, social welfare Rs 11.98 crore,  General Economic services Rs 5.4 crore. Similarly, Rs 1.23 lakh have been proposed for Rural Development , Rs 2.78 crore for Irrigation and Flood Control and Rs 0.88 crore to Agriculture and Allied sectors, besides , Rs 0.30 crore  will go to power sector and Rs 0.7 crore to Industry and Minerals. 
 Addressing the meeting the chairman DDB Kishtwar underscored the need of Planning with coordination and stressed for more cooperation and synerging between various departments so that liberal funding which is coming from the Centre could be fully utilized in a time bound manner, ensuring scheme wise benefits to the targeted habitations/areas. Expressing satisfaction over 99.51% expenditure recorded during the last year, the chairman exhorted upon the officers present to work with same spirit to achieve the fixed targets. He directed DDC Kishtwar to hold weekly review meetings of every important project in the district so that these projects get completed in a time bound manner.
 The chairman stressed upon the officers to motivate the unemployed youth to setting up their own income generating units for which the chairman asked the officers to organize awareness camps in various parts of the District to educate unemployed youth about various self employment schemes. He said there is lot of scope in various sectors like Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Poultry, in the district which needs to be tapped.  He also impressed upon the officers concerned to educate youth about the SKEWPY scheme which has been introduced by the present coalition government for benefit and welfare of the unemployed youth of the State. He also said that road connectivity, health, education, and other basic amenities are the priority sectors of the government.
