Land owners get Rs 17 cr compensation

Srinagar, July 3: The Government has provided over Rs. 17 crore as compensation to the families of Kralpora of Bandipora district whose 755 Kanals of land have been acquired for construction of power house.
This, according to an official statement, was revealed at a high level meeting of officers held here today to review the rehabilitation plan formulated for these families. The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Lone was in the chair. The DDC constituted a high power Committee, headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora to monitor the rehabilitation programme for these families.
The DDC told that measures are afoot to rehabilitate the families of Budwan and Khafri villages of border tehsil Gurez , which are likely to be affected due to the construction of project Dam in the area. Besides senior officers, NHPC authorities and senior citizens of Gurez area were also attended the meeting.
