Victimized by red-tape, scientist ends life

Jammu: In a bizarre incident, signifying the extent of harassment a common man face due to red tape, a junior scientist at Krishi Vighyan Kendra (Poonch) took extreme step and ended his life in despair on Friday allegedly, for not getting his police verification, even after laps of two years since his selection.
Sources said Rakesh Sharma son of Jagan Nath (40) of Karan Nagar (Jammu) was posted at Krishi Vighyan Kendra (Poonch) as junior scientist was found dead in his room with a suicide note.
When Rakesh did not reach his office, sources said, his colleagues became suspicious and informed the police. On receiving information, a police team broke open the door of the room and found the body of Rakesh with a suicide note,” sources said.
In the suicide note Rakesh has written that he was in depression allegedly due to unrelenting delay in police verification which forced him to end his life.
