POOR RESPONSE TO JAMMU BANDH
GK NEWS NETWORK
Udhampur, July 4: Various political parties with diverse ideologies have hailed people of Jammu for what they said was befitting reply to communal forces.
Members of District Congress Committee Udhampur appreciated people of Jammu for giving a befitting reply to communal elements by opposing yesterday’s Jammu bandh call.
Urging people to maintain communal harmony in both the regions, president DCC (Udhampur) Bhupinder Singh Pathania alleged that Hurriyat Conference in Kashmir and RSS-backed elements in Jammu were trying to disturb communal harmony in the state, particularly during Amarnath pilgrimage.
The DCC called upon Hurriyat to join the process of dialogue and help in devising out amicable and all acceptable solution to the stalemate.
The Congress party urged the Prime Minister to involve all shades of parties, persons, classes, caste-based groups and opinions from Jammu, Kashmir as well as Ladakh, in the process of dialogue for an ever-lasting solution to the stalemate. The National Conference, Jammu West Constituency unit also hailed the people of Jammu for rejecting the bandh call and appreciated transporters, traders, Jammu Bar Association, Chamber of Commerce and other social organizations for maintaining harmony in Jammu region.
A statement issued by provincial president of National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta praised the role of Jammuties in strengthening the secular fabric of the state.
