Hurriyat (M) condemns Waza’s arrest

Srinagar, July 5: Hurriyat Conference (M) has strongly condemned the arrest of its executive member and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League vice-chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza by the armed forces, terming it government’s frustration.
In a statement, Hurriyat spokesman also condemned the continued detention of Zaffar Akbar Bhat and demanded his immediate release.
The spokesman demanded stern punishment to the police and other personnel involved in the killing of three youths in Islamabad town on June 29.
“The government and people of India should accept the realities and take concrete and effective steps to resolve Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of its people,” he said, adding “peace will be a far fetched dream in south Asia until the Kashmir issue is resolved.”
The spokesman has called for unity of thought and action among all the pro-freedom parties to take the mission of martyrs to its logical end. He cautioned the pro-freedom people against the machinations of vested interests all set to create confusion among them.
