Jama’at alleges CRPF atrocities on civilians
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 5: Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu Kashmir on Monday condemned, what it called, the CRPF troopers’ highhandedness against civilians in different areas of the Valley, causing damage to their life and property.
“These unbridled armed forces go berserk every now and then in Valley, causing damage to life and property of civilians. At Khankah Moaula they went berserk and smashed the widow panes of houses and vehicles. At Mattan Chowk, Khanabal, Ashagi Pora of Islamabad, they ruthlessly beat the people without any justification on Saturday, causing injuries to some of them.
These actions prove that CRPF is here to suppress the peoples’ just voice and are out of the control of the local administration,” said the Jama’at spokesman, advocate Zahid Ali in a statement today.
Meanwhile, the spokesman alleged the arrest of a number of youth in various areas of the Valley, terming it the frustration of the administration. “Detaining Sheikh Akram, a class 8th class student of Jogi Lankar and lodging him in Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu, under PSA is a glaring example of state tyranny.
The youth under custody are facing harsh treatment. Such cruel tactics will not solve any problem, but may lead to an uglier situation,” he said, adding “Jamaat-e-Islami gives a sincere advice to the government of India to stop repressive policies in Kashmir and respect the honour the aspirations of the people.”
