Navy divers launch fresh search operation

MBBS Student Drowning Case

GK NEWS NETWORK

Jammu, July, 5: Nearly two months after alleged drowning of the MBBS student Sayeed Zuhaib Rizwi in Mansar Lake, a special team of the Navy divers has arrived here to conduct fresh searches to find out the body.
Sayeed Zuhaib Rizwi, a medical student of Shri Acharya Chander hospital went missing about two months back on May 14 from the college. Rizvi hailed from Nabdipora Hawal locality of Srinagar.
According to police, the MBBS student had allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the lake as his wallet was found on the banks of the water body. But even after continues searches for a week, the divers could not fish out his body from the lake raising a question mark on the police’s theory of suicide.
The family members of Rizvi have all along been alleging that he had been kidnapped as even after week long searches by the police and 9 Para divers, they could not find his body.
It is after about two months that an eight member team of Navy divers headed by Lt. Yesh Paul Yadev landed at Mansar on July 3 and started   fresh searches to find out the body of Rizvi.
Sources said the Navy team was called by the administration to conduct fresh search operations in Mansar Lake spread over an area of 4,000 square feet. They said that during last two days the navy team ventured deep up to 24 meters. However, the team is facing hardships in view of the intense high pressure at the shallow of the lake.
According to official sources search operation is being supervised by the senior Police officers who are also camping on the spot.
